The Oriental Band

Started in 1953, this fun-loving group of "musicians" enjoys entertaining people during parades and special events like birthdays and fundraisers. And this group is a family-oriented group with spouses, children, and grandchildren attending many of these events.

What does it take to be an Oriental Band member? As many of our Shrine followers will say, "Definitely musical talent isn't a prerequisite!" (Although we say it does help at times.)

Practices are usually held on a late Sunday afternoon and includes a meal. Instruments are provided. Most members have had their uniforms made, but older uniforms may be available to get you started.

Our biggest claim to fame is all the trophies we have won at CSSA (Central States Shrine Association) each year.
